About Us
Shared Passion
After a combined four decades as Marriage and Family Therapists, Malia and Kristi have come together in a shared passion for Group Therapy. We recognized a need in the community for a place where people can show up and get real and honest with themselves and others. A group setting has a unique way of propelling one into deeper relationships and deeper success through challenge and support by other group members. We curate the space and facilitate the groups which are like a real time lab, where you will experience yourself and others with greater awareness. As a result, you can learn new behaviors and ways of relating and therefore becoming more effective in your life.
Malia Doss, LMFT, SEP
I have been a Marriage and Family Therapist for 18 years. My specialties include Somatic Experiencing and Emotionally Focused Therapy. I am a Spiritual Director. I am a certified yoga teacher and have taught mindfulness and meditation. I have participated in groups as a member and as a facilitator off and on for 30 years. I am trained in group psychotherapy, the principles of Interpersonal Neurobiology and Christian Spiritual Formation. I am passionate about creating communities where people share the truth of their lives- the brokenness, things that have happened to them, things they have done, things that they feel, sense or are conflicted about. They share their dreams and longings. They don’t share just to be heard. They share to be known. They share to know that others can bear the full weight of their being and not leave. We stay in the room. I am a fellow journeyer, a seeker, student, teacher, counselor. I look forward to meeting you in the rooms of Created for Community.
Kristi Willhoft, LMFT
I have been a Marriage and Family Therapist for 20 years. My areas of specialty are working with couples and helping people recover from trauma. I am trained and experienced in several modalities including EMDR, mindfulness, Family Systems, Imago, the principles of Interpersonal Neurobiology and early attachment. It has been a profound privilege being on this journey with others. Participating in a process where others dive deep into their vulnerable truth, has given my life great meaning. I've been called to provide a space for others to be seen, heard, and known in the midst of their feelings of shame, guilt, fear, inadequacy, unworthiness, and vulnerability and through their experience of being more truly known be reminded of their profound value and worthiness .
We are all imperfect humans. We all hunger to belong and to be known. Join one of our groups and experience authenticity in a shared space held by others who desire for the same thing. You just might find light within you that you never knew was there, and a feeling of connectedness that you've long for.
